“I Have a Dream”
by
Jonathan Avalon
I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream.
Today, I have a dream.
That all men and women from all walks of life, no matter what skin color or God they choose to believe in or not to believe, treat each other equally and with love as the Brothers and Sisters we are.
Today, I have a dream.
That the inalienable right of survival is not determined by one’s economic stature.
That no man, woman or child shall ever go hungry.
That no man, woman or child shall ever be without shelter.
That no man, woman or child shall be left out in the cold.
Today, I have a dream.
That we humans live in a never ending state of balance with the Earth and stop the rape and endless consumption of the natural and non-renewable resources. That through this new relationship with our planet we no longer pollute and contaminate the water and food we eat and that we always keep in mind the wellbeing of the Seventh Generation.
Today, I have a dream.
That every sentient being is free to express itself as it will.
Today, I have a dream.
That all the people and all the nations of the Earth live in harmony with one another. That all concepts of hate, anger, revenge and war are a thing that our grandchildren read in the history books. That Love and Peace are the driving force behind all policies and decisions both personally and politically.
Today, I have a dream.
